The information below is a basic tutorial regarding the use of various devices in the office.

Desktop Issues

  • PC issues that require additional assistance should be directed to delta-desktop@help.ncsu.edu.
  • This includes but is not limited to:
    • Admin PCs
    • Battery-backups
    • Check-in laptops
    • Non-WolfCopy printers
    • PCs for student use in the testing room
    • Software issues, such as NetSupport Configurations
    • The Venture IV Kiosk

 

Using the Scanner

Adding an email address to favorites page:
  • Press the “Menu” button from the home screen.
  • Press the utility button.
  • Press the “1-One Touch/User Box Registration” button.
  • Press the “1-Create One Touch Destination” button.
  • Press the “1-Address Book (Public)” button.
  • Press the “1-Email” button.
  • Select the “New” button in the bottom left.
  • Once there, click the “Index” button to select where the address will appear. (Favorites will catalog the address on the front of the scan page’s address book).
  • Following picking the desired index, press the down arrow and then select the email address field.
  • Type the email address and click “OK” to save.
Scanning a one-sided document:
  • Press the “Menu” button from the home screen.
  • Press “Scan/Fax”.
  • Select the address from “Favorites” or select “Direct Input” to manually enter the address.
  • Press “Start”.
Scanning a double-sided document:
  • Press the “Menu” button from the home screen.
  • Press “Scan/Fax”.
  • Select the address from “Favorites” or select “Direct Input” to manually enter the address.
  • From the options on the bottom of the screen, press “1-sided” and then select “2-sided”.
  • Press “Start”.

 

Using the Copier

Making a Stapled Copy:
  • The home screen is typically the copier menu. However, if it is not on the copier menu press “Menu” on the console and select “Copy”.
  • Place pages to be copied in the tray face up.
  • On touchpad, press the “No. of Sets” icon.
  • Type in the desired number of copies.
  • Press “close”.
  • On the bottom right of the touchpad, select “Finishing”.
  • In the “Staple/Punch” menu, select “Corner” and then “OK”.
  • Press the blue-lit “Start” button on the console to make copies of the document.

 

WolfCopy Printer Errors

Paper Jams:
  • The display will indicate if a paper jam has occurred.
  • Follow the guidance on the display step-by-step to address the issue.
  • After removing the jam, return to the home display and tap the “Job List” button located in the top-right hand corner of the screen.
  • Next, select the job in which the paper jam occurred on the list displayed (often this is the only job on the list).
  • On the right-hand menu, select “delete job” and then tap “yes” on the next page.
  • With the jam removed and previous job deleted, the printer will allow you to reattempt the copy or scan without issue.
malfunctions, low ink, no staples, and Etc:
  • Issues that involve mechanical malfunctions, low ink cartridges, or no staples require assistance from WolfCopy.
  • To initiate a service request, call the NC State Help Desk at (919) 515-4357 or 5-4357 from the office phone.
  • Press 1 to speak to an OIT Administrator.
  • Explain the issue and reference the WolfCopy printer number (found on the side of the printer).
  • The HelpDesk will escalate the ticket to WolfCopy which is usually addressed the same day.

 

DvTel Malfunctions

  • Issues with the web-based camera should be directed to the SAT HelpDesk sat@ncsu.edu.
  • Include the director and assistant director on any correspondence sent to SAT.
  • Make sure to reference the test center location and the specific cameras that are experiencing issues.
    • The camera name can be found by looking at the tile in DvTel.
